About Shannon M. Tenney
(also known as Shannon Marie Tenney, Shannon Tenney)
In the legal world, family law cases are unique. A divorce is not a straightforward process – it's a complex web of emotions and people that impact the whole community. Attorney Shannon Tenney combines her keen legal knowledge with compassion for every client to not just win cases but fight for her client's future.
Shannon honed her courtroom experience working for Renée E. Mura S.C. where she represented clients in both family law and criminal cases. She is well versed in the areas of divorce, CHIPS cases, child custody and placement, child support, spousal support, and restraining orders.
As a family lawyer, Shannon takes her responsibility to her clients and their families very seriously. She refuses to settle in and is constantly learning and evolving to become a more effective advocate. Every family law case is different, and Shannon is an open-minded, creative thinker who tailors a strategy to her client's needs.
Shannon's passion is to be a strong voice for those who believe themselves voiceless. Having represented young parents and other people going through divorce cases and custody battles – she sees many of her clients start the process feeling helpless. However, by acting as their knowledgeable defender, she empowers her clients. Her greatest hope is to encourage them to fight for what is best for their families long after their case is resolved.
Not satisfied with representing clients alone, Shannon has ambitions to help shape the law itself and its practice. She is an elected Director-at-large for the Kenosha County Bar Association Board and intends to have an active role in creating new laws to better serve her community in the future.
It was during her time working for the Hillview Pro Bono Clinic that she discovered a passion for family law. As she worked with different families, she saw how much a flexible and experienced attorney could make a difference in their lives and the community as a whole.
Shannon was born and raised in Wisconsin, and her extended family still lives mostly in the state. Further back along the family tree, she even has relations who were some of the first settlers of the Lake Geneva area. In short, she is Wisconsin-blooded through and through.
She currently lives in Milwaukee with her fiancé, Samuel, and dog, Oliver. She loves where she lives and relishes in being surrounded by people of different backgrounds and walks of life. A huge fan of both playing and listening to music, she attends live music events every chance she has. Currently, she is challenging herself by training for a marathon.

"This past fall, I filed for divorce. My husband and I were in a situation where neither of us really needed a lawyer to sort things out, so I decided to file pro se. I was concerned about making a mistake in the paperwork and delaying the final separation, so I called SterlingLawyers.com. Attorney Festerling agreed to work w/me on a "consult only" basis, meaning she would answer my questions and review my documents, charging only for the time spent on those things. There would be no big legal fees incurred for her presence in court or for her time in filling out documents that I was capable of handling myself. She was kind and helpful, and our case went through without a hitch. The overall outlay was very reasonable. I was very happy with the help I received and felt confident going to the court date, knowing all our ducks were in a row. It was as good as an experience like this can be."
