About Trisha Festerling
also known as Trisha B Festerling, Trisha Brook Festerling, Trisha Wuerch
“As a lawyer, I am often a buffer between pain and reasonableness. When I have the opportunity to alleviate someone's worries, to relieve the stress in life by explaining the basics of the law, I have done what I have been called to do.”
Sitting at her desk in fourth grade, Trisha Festerling patiently listened to her guidance counselor talk about various professions. Every week, she would hear about different jobs, but nothing gripped her. Then one day, the counselor talked about being a lawyer. Trisha listened to the ways that lawyers defend and help other people. From that moment on, she was on a mission to pursue law.
In a rural area with small schools, that was easier said than done. But she kept her head down, driven by her desire to be of service to others. Now, she's making her dream a reality as a successful member of the team at Sterling Law Offices.
Trisha's career started in corporate law, but it lacked the one-on-one time that she was passionate about. Slowly but surely, her desire to interact with her clients directly gravitated her towards Family Law.
Working a family law case is where she feels she can really help people through a difficult period in their lives. Divorce and child custody are huge life events that impact people in deeply emotional and long-lasting ways.
Trisha doesn't just defend her clients but empowers them. She helps her clients maintain a strong family while moving constantly forward, even at the worst of times. A divorce case lasts only a short while, and it's important that they're prepared to face their new life at the end of it.
Trisha graduated with honors and Magna Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2001 before earning her law (J.D.) degree from Regent University Law School in 2007.
It was while earning her law degree that Trisha had her first child, and it changed her life forever. It made her understand the importance of family, with children at their center. It's a feeling she remembers when working a case.
When Trisha isn't at work, she enjoys spending time with her three children and appreciating nature. She particularly loves the mountains, and coincidentally met her husband while training to summit a 14,000-foot mountain in Colorado. When she sees a big, majestic mountain in the distance, it still gives her goosebumps.
When she's not hiking or skipping rocks on the beach, you might find Trisha around Milwaukee going to the zoo with her family or at the Milwaukee Public Museum.
