He failed to do a discovery, Failed to do a deposition and missed a very important deadline that severely impacted my case. He filed a motion to compel and it was denied through the court as the court said he had an adequate amount of time to get it done . He also filed a continuance and it was also denied. After I paid him my retaining fee, I did not hear from him until four months later. I sent him messages, finally 21 days later, two days before I had court, he responded to me. He had my prenuptial agreement for 10 months before he even finally read it and he finally read it the day before my hearing in front of me and three other people. He had no intentions on reading it as he even reached out to my previous attorney asking him what he thought of it. I caught Jeff in MANY lies. The few times we met together, I would drive down to Appleton to sit in the waiting room for about 20 minutes before he will call me and then he would say to me"What's up?"I would then ask him don't we have anything to talk about for court and he would say "no not really now get out of here ."There isn't enough room in here for me to say all the unethical things that he did to me. He was always extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.The day before my final hearing, he called me down to his office, which I thought was to prepare us for court but instead, he pointed his MacBook at me and provoked me into yelling at him for not doing anything for the entire year and sent it to the judge! He then told me he quit. He quit on me because he knew he was going to lose significantly in court and didn't want to take accountability. I also knew when I walked into that room he was going to quit because he only had his MacBook in that room nothing else . The judge didn't allow him to quit, In fact the next morning he showed up late for court with only his MacBook and a piece of paper that he told me I had to sign and dare. I thought it was for him to stay being my lawyer as why else would he be having me sign something in court? Nope, he had me sign another contract saying I owe him an additional $13,000 even though I had already signed another contract months ago and Jeff told me it would take me all the way to the end, which I have in a text message. He was always late and unprepared for court. My final hearing, the judge sent us into mediation and Jeff fled court to run to his office to print stuff off since he came to court with nothing. He also came back with nothing because he didn't do anything the entire year he was my attorney. The only thing he had in court were my husband's attorney's exhibits. I was so embarrassed sitting next to him. The judge was so mad at him for everything he did over the entire year and he clearly took it out on my case. The only enemy I had in that court room was my attorney. I wish I could post all the horrible text messages from him. I can't believe Sterling law firm would even have an attorney like this working for them. When his boss called me the other day, I told her I felt like I hired someone who just got out of college and didn't know what they were doing.
