Question Details:

Seven months ago my brother was hit by a driver in Milwaukee. He was turning a corner and did not look and struck my brother. My brother suffered serious head trauma, but it looks like he will make a full recovery. Our lawyer still has not completed the claim. It seems like this is a fairly straightforward case, what is taking so long? Is it taking so long because my brother is not technically fully recovered yet?

Personal Injury Lawyer Response:

From what you are describing it sounds as though everything is going smoothly in your case. Your attorney should be letting your brother know the status of his case, but likely everything is in order.

When a case involves brain trauma it can and should take a while. The reason for the longevity of the case is in head trauma cases it is important to get proper tests and treatments to ensure a full recovery. Treatment of this kind is expensive and rushing to a settlement could leave your brother in a risky financial state if full recovery does not happen.

As an FYI, you are within your rights to probe your personal injury lawyer for updates on your case. They work for you and should be proactively informing you on the status of your personal injury claim.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out to ask further questions if you need something clarified.
