DON'T! Find a traditional council. Oshkosh location was a shabbly put together room with no signs for office. Should have gone with instincts to bolt right there. Strike 1! Wanted me to fill out forms but gave me divorce paperwork to fill out even tho I needed family law. I am not even married. Then gave excuse it must be coded wrong. Strike two! It felt like my information on case meant nothing and council had its own agenda and would not budge…..my dime, not his. Strike 3! Everything you want to do is an additional cost. Wanted to file contempt and was told $1,500 for 3 pieces of paper that get e-filed. I did it myself for free. Strike 4! Ther is more but you get the idea from above.

The emotional part of getting divorced is hard enough in and of itself. Add to that figuring out the process of getting divorced which feels complicated and one ends up feeling confused. I reached out to Sterling Law Offices and received a personal call back from one of the executive partners asking how he could best meet my needs. I wasn't looking for mediation or an attorney to necessarily represent me. What I was searching for was guidance. They were willing to tailor something just for me to help me navigate the process of what to file and when. I was very grateful to have someone listen and really hear me.

For a divorce mediation i feel i could have done better on my own. Our lawyer was unresponsive to the point of not receiving responses from her for up to a month. Was charged about $5000 for a total of 8 hours of working with this person. Truthfully, the lawyer pretty much only filed the court paperwork which i had already filled out on my own. I don't know who these other folks dealt with that they felt this organization is worthy of 5 stars, but it certainly wasn't the lawyer we've been handed. I will never recommend Sterling Law to anyone.

I would not recommend this law firm to anyone who values a business standing behind its word/contract, confidentiality of personal information or being treated with respect. I hired Sterling a little more than one year ago. Not until recently did I discover my original Sterling lawyer, who is no longer with this firm, did not file any Stage 1 documents for my divorce – documents I provided more than 8 months prior. Nor did they negotiate with my ex's attorney. The stage one documents – financials and MSA – were only pointed out as missing by the judge overseeing my divorce. Embarrassing to say the least – to be caught off guard like that. Moreover, the next attorney that was assigned to me by Sterling sent me personal identification and financial information of another couple filing for divorce! After this, I could not trust Sterling law, so I terminated my relationship with Sterling and retaining new counsel. But in the end, what I'm most disgusted by is attorney Jeff Hughes of Sterling. He is nothing short of a misogynist – going as far as to slut shame me via email after I attempted to discuss a refund for services not completed by the firm in the Stage 1, as laid out in the firm's contract. This man has something seriously wrong with his heart, and needs to adjust his attitude towards women. Or at the least, take note of the #metoo movement.

Absolutely would recommend Nikole and Sterling. Most of the time I would just communicate via email, and even the times when I would receive an out of office reply, she would still reply back to me within an hour. She was always on top of things, and ensured the process moved along quickly. It was the piece of mind I got from her, and all the staff at Sterling.

Very knowledgeable staff, with great communication at all times. The flat fee pricing is one of the main reasons I went with them. Had enough to worry about, money was not one of them.
