About Tristan F. Eagon
(also known as Tristan Eagon)
Without a doubt, Tristan’s background is eclectic and full of adventure. Growing up in southeastern Ohio, Tristan was determined to dedicate her life to protecting others and standing up for those without a voice. This led her towards the path of studying criminal justice and ultimately becoming a police officer in Ohio and then South Carolina.
It was during this time that she was told by a judge that she had a talent for litigating in the courtroom and should consider law school. This was a whole new avenue to help people and put her skills to the test. So she went to law school and never looked back.
Tristan graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan then started her career as a lawyer, first as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Lansing, Michigan. She then worked in a law firm practicing general law before working in the Wisconsin State Public Defender's office.
She also had the chance to work as a mediator and uses that experience to help her better listen and understand what is most important to her clients. As someone who has won jury trials and had practical experience in nearly every aspect of the law, she is prepared for anything thrown her way.
After a time, she figured out her skills were best suited to the unique challenges of family law. Tristan loves connecting with people, and as a family law attorney she likes helping her clients overcome some of their greatest hurdles.
She is determined to make sure her clients never feel alone throughout the process, no matter what they're dealing with. No one wants to end up in litigation or be in front of a judge, and most people going through a divorce never knew their life would end up at that point.
Tristan takes the brunt of the burden for her clients and breaks down the legal process into manageable pieces. In that way, she can help her clients stop being afraid, and start looking towards the future.
Family law gives Tristan the opportunity to advocate for her clients in a compassionate, heartfelt way. No case is the same, and no two people are alike, and she is flexible to adapt her style to make sure her client's needs are being addressed. Family law keeps her on her toes and gives her the chance to learn every day.
To decompress outside of the office, Tristan likes to go golfing whenever the weather allows, work on pursuing her pilot’s license, or catch the latest movie. As a resident of Madison, she loves to tour the city's many restaurants, never eating at the same place twice. When she gets the chance, she likes going to sporting events, walking to city market on the square, or catching a concert downtown.
In 2020 Attorney Tristan Eagon was recognized by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys (NAFLA) as a Top 10 attorney under 40 years of age in the state of Wisconsin for excellence in family law. Award recipients are licensed, in good standing with their local bar association and nominated by a licensed practicing attorney or one of NAFLA's in-house staff researchers. This is no small achievement; only the most premier family law attorneys across the nation are chosen for this accolade after a rigorous selection process.
