Attorney Smet
So far she is doing a great job of keeping me informed. Even though she was given my case after about 9 months. She was up to speed in no time. With attorney Smet things are moving forward. Thank you for your time and effort.

Attorney Smet is simply amazing. She is always calm and realistic. She stands up for me in ways I would never have known to do. Extremely professional and very prompt. I could not have made it this far without her. Highly recommend her.
Great Experience
Attorney Hannah Smet did a wonderful job guiding me through the legal process. This was my first experience that required hiring an attorney and I could not have felt more at ease in a difficult situation. Attorney Smet made me feel comfortable that we were proceeding appropriately and that she had my best interest in mind. I would recommend working with her as she was very knowledgeable.
About Hannah E. Smet
(also known as Hannah Smet)
Attorney Hannah Smet knew for a long time she wanted to be a lawyer. But it was when she worked at the child support division in law school, where her passion for family law really clicked. Since then, she’s stayed dedicated to helping people through one of the most difficult parts of their life and making sure their voices are heard.
As a dedicated family attorney, Hannah handles cases of divorce, child custody, and child support. In her career, she’s successfully handled many difficult cases. These include a jury trial to terminate parental rights, and defending a client’s right to relocate a child across the country. Whatever the situation, the best payoff Hannah gets from her hard work is seeing the relief in her client’s faces when they can finally move on.
She previously practiced law at Schwab Legal Group, LLC. There, she gained legal experience in a variety of areas, including landlord-tenant law, real estate law, general estate planning, traffic and probate law, in addition to family law. Her legal expertise has led her to present at landlord-tenant conferences and at several National Business Institute CLE seminars.
Hannah makes it a priority to make sure her client’s voices are heard in an emotionally difficult time. She is a helpful protector, both advocating for their clients and easing them through the sometimes daunting court procedures.
Before college, Hannah initially considered becoming a teacher. Ultimately, she discovered her talents for public speaking and advocating for others would be put to better use as a lawyer. So, she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin Madison in History and Women’s Studies, with a minor in African studies. This both paved the way to earning her law degree at William Mitchell College of Law in Minnesota while allowing her to study and live in Kenya for six months.
While in law school, she also volunteered on Saturday mornings at the family law clinic, helping pro se litigants complete divorce proceedings.
Hannah lives together with her family in Van Dyne, Wisconsin. She never misses an opportunity to enjoy the changing seasons and great outdoors that the state offers. One of her favorite spots is Eagle River, where her family goes to a cabin on the lake to spend relaxing days with her extended family.

"Absolutely wonderful experience for such a trying matter with my family. Our lawyer that we met with Leticia was 100% honest with us regarding fees, and what to expect if we decided to move forward. Because of this and because of Leticia my family if I decided to move forward with Sterling law office and we look forward to working with them directly."
