About Meg O’Marro
Meg C. O’Marro has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Dayton, School of Law. She was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar on September 22, 1992, after a successful performance on the State Bar Exam.
As an undergraduate, Attorney O’Marro majored in political science and maintained a high-grade point average while working and devoting her time to Kappa Kappa Gamma and the charity events it sponsored.
She attended law school at the University of Dayton, School of Law. As a student, she was selected by her peers to represent the school in the Regional Moot Court Competition and was chosen as the judicial clerk for the Honorable John M. Meagher of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas; it was a position she held throughout law school. Her research and writing skills were honored when she received the Dean’s Award for her thesis entitled “Alcoholism and Criminal Responsibility”.
Attorney O’Marro has focused her career on family law and criminal law. In 1992 she was hired by Nelson Law Office, L.L.C. where she gained extensive trial experience. In 2004, Attorney O’Marro opened a law practice that she successfully ran until 2015 when she joined Sterling Law Offices. During her career, Attorney O’Marro has served as guardian ad litem in custody, divorce, neglect and protective service cases. She has also served as defense counsel in juvenile delinquency, misdemeanor, felony, mental health commitment and termination of parental rights cases. Her experience as a family law attorney is in the areas of divorce, custody and placement, paternity, adoption, and grandparent’s rights.
Attorney O’Marro is the mother of five children. Her favorite place to travel with them is Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin where she spent her childhood summers. As a family, Meg and her children enjoy water skiing, snow skiing, boating, cooking, music and bonfires.
Meg is passionate about being a lawyer because she can make a difference during difficult times. She says, “It’s extremely rewarding to guide clients through their problems and witness their transformation from hopeless to hopeful. Knowing that the quality of my representation can influence the trajectory of someone’s life is a tremendous responsibility that’s made worthwhile when a client thanks me at the end of a case for a job well done.”
